Let’s say hypothetically that you’re feeling down and you have two good friends who want to help you feel better, but by drastically different means. The first friend decides what you need is a crazy night out partying—a wild, fast night with hopefully enough residual momentum to push you out of your rut. While friend two opts to just sort of sit down next to you silently for as long as it takes for you to come to the realization that it, whatever it may be, is going to be ok.
